Do I need a vet referral Under UK law, animal physiotherapy must be carried out with veterinary consent. We make this simple: you book, and we contact your vet for the brief consent form. No extra effort needed from you
What happens during a session? We start with a relaxed chat about what you've noticed, then a gentle hands-on assessment of posture, joints and movement. Treatment may include massage, stretches, mobilisations and a tailored home exercise plan you can follow easily.
How do I know if my dog needs physiotherapy? If your dog is slowing down, stiff after rest, reluctant to jump, or showing behaviour changes — these are common early signs. Try my Dog Pain Self-Check Quiz, or book a Pain & Mobility Assessment for a clear answer.
How many sessions are needed? It varies — some dogs feel better after 2–3 sessions, others with chronic conditions benefit from regular maintenance. We're transparent: you'll always know the recommended plan and progress.
What areas do you cover? I provide home visits across the North of Cumbria. Please note there will be a travel charge of 0.50p per mile outside a 10 mile radius of Canonbie, Dumfries and Galloway. can travel a little further by arrangement. Please get in touch with your postcode and I will confirm if I travel to your area and the cost.
Is physiotherapy safe for nervous or older dogs? Yes — my entire approach is built around being calm, slow and patient. Many of my clients are senior dogs or rescues who needed time to feel safe. I never push beyond what your dog is comfortable with.
